This privacy policy (“Policy”) explains the handing of information of the user of the service SewingLab (“Service”) operated by SewingLab. (“SewingLab”)
1. This Policy applies to the use of the Service, and if the SewingLab stipulates other provisions for the handling of the user’s information in a privacy policy displayed on the Service any other privacy policies, or in the terms of use of the Service, such provisions shall also apply, and if such provisions conflict with this Policy, such provisions shall prevail.
2. Provisions under this Policy shall not apply to other external services that the SewingLab uses in tandem with the Service and any services provided by any third parties (“Allied Services”). Please refer to the privacy policy separately set forth by the provider of such Allied Services with regard to the handling of user’s information by the Allied Services.
In order to achieve the purpose set forth in Article 3, the SewingLab will obtain the following information (“User Information”) in relation to the users and the applicants of the Service (“User”) :
(1) Information to be provided by the User for the use of the Service.
Name, nickname, year of birth, country of location, age, gender, phone number, email address, credit card number, ID, password, information to be written on the profile in the Service, and other information specified by the SewingLab in the Service
(2) Information to be gathered by the SewingLab for the use of the Service.
Terminal ID (Device ID), IP address, the current location of devices, access log on to the server, cookies, other information to be transmitted by the User in the Service (including purchase history, ‘favorite’ data registration, search history, text data, images, movies, posts to the Service), and information to be obtained from Allied Services with the User’ contents (including User ID used in Allied Services)
1.The SewingLab will properly use the User Information to the extent, for the purpose set forth below:
(1)for the purpose of registration screening of the Service;
(2)for providing the Service and personal identification:
(3)for the purpose of demanding payment and settlement of the usage fee of the Service;
(4)for the purpose of introducing or responding to inquiries about the Service;
(5)for the purpose of notifying User of the amendment to these Terms or this Privacy Policy in related to the Service, or suspension, cancellation, termination of the Service or other important notices relating to the Service;
(6)for the purpose of advertising products and/or services of the SewingLab or a third party;
(7)for the purpose of maintaining and improving the Service or considering new services;and
(8)for the purpose of researching and analyzing the usage situation of the Service.
2.The SewingLab may change the utilization purpose provided for in the preceding paragraph to the extent that such change is reasonably deemed to be related to the original utilization purpose, upon which the SewingLab shall notify User of such change, or publish the changes in the Service or on the website operated by the SewingLab in an easy to understand manner.
The SewingLab will not provide any personal data (“Personal Data”, as defined under Article 2(6) of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. The same shall apply hereafter.) to any third parties without the prior consent of the User; provided, however, that this shall not apply to the following cases where the Personal Data is provided to a third party :
(1)cases where the Personal Data is provided accompanied by the SewingLab entrusting a whole or part of the handling of personal data within the necessary scope to achieve a utilization purpose prescribed under this Policy;
(2)cases where the Personal Data is provided accompanied with business succession caused by a merger or other reason;
(3)cases where the Personal Data to be jointly utilized by a specific person is provided to the specific person, and when the User has in advance been informed or a state has been in a place where the User can easily know to the effect as well as the categories of the jointly utilized Personal Data, the scope of a jointly utilizing person, the utilization purpose for the utilizing person and the name or appellation of a person responsible for controlling the said Personal Data; or
(4)cases where it is required under Act on the Protection of Personal Information and/or laws and regulations.
The Service may incorporate an information-gathering tool selected by the SewingLab that enables the SewingLab to gather and analyze information on the usage and the advertising effect on the Service. Accordingly, the SewingLab may provide the User Information to the following information-gathering tool provider (including those located in Japan and outside Japan). The provider of the information-gathering tool collects the User Information but does not collect any information that identifies the User. The information collected is managed in accordance with the privacy policies and other terms and conditions established by the provider.

1.In order to conduct targeted advertising by us or third parties such as advertising distributors (i.e., advertising methods that distribute advertising which matches customers' needs and interests), we may collect, store, or use the following information through the information collection module set forth in the preceding article when we provide the Services or affiliate program:
(1)The history of activities and the status of use of Services (that can be used to analyze the needs and interests of customers by accumulating such information, such as the history of use of the Services, and that does not identify a specific individual); and
(2)Device’s information.
2.We provide distributor of targeting advertisement (hereinafter referred to as "Advertisement Distribution Companies") with the information collected under the preceding section in order to distribute useful information to customers through the advertising distribution system which optimizes advertisement that tailors to their needs and interests.
3.The handling of information by the Advertisement Distribution Company shall be in accordance with the privacy policy and other conditions set by the Advertisement Distribution Company.
1. When the User requests to notify the utilization purpose of, disclose, correct, add, delete, cease and/or remove the Personal Data retained in the SewingLab’s database (“Disclosure”), the SewingLab will make the Disclosure without delay in accordance with the provisions of Act on the Protection of Personal Information on the condition that the SewingLab affirms that the request is made by the User itself; provided, however, that this shall not apply to a case where the SewingLab has no such obligation to do so under laws and regulations including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
2. Please contact the SewingLab in a manner prescribed in Article 10 for the request of the Disclosure.
3. 1,000 JPY will be charged to the User as a handling fee for each Disclosure request made by the User.
1. The SewingLab may revise this Policy when the SewingLab deems that the revision of this Policy is necessary in the following cases:
(1) cases in which revision of this Policy conforms to the general interest of User; or
(2) cases in which revision of this Policy does not run afoul of the purpose of the contract and is reasonable in light of the circumstances of the amendment, such as the necessity of the amendment, the appropriateness of the details of the amended conditions.
2. In the case set forth in the preceding paragraph, the SewingLab shall notify the User of the fact that the SewingLab will revise this Policy, the revised contents, and the effective date of the revision on the SewingLab’s Website, in Service or by electromagnetic record such as email no later than two (2) weeks prior to the day when such revision becomes effective.
3. In addition to those specified in the preceding two paragraphs, the SewingLab may revise this Policy with the consent of the User in a manner specified by the SewingLab. In such case, this revised Policy shall apply only to the User who has agreed to the change in a manner specified by the SewingLab.

SewingLab (hereinafter referred to as the “SewingLab”) processes the personal data of its users to whom those regulations apply (hereinafter referred to as a “User”) in accordance with the applicable of European Union and European Union Member State’s regulations on data protection, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter referred to as the “GDPR”). This privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as this “Policy”) explains how SewingLab, as the data controller, processes User’s personal data.
1.SewingLab processes the User’s personal data based on the legal bases provided for in Articles 6 and 7 of the GDPR. SewingLab will obtain and process the User’s personal data, listed below for the following purposes and bases.
(i) List of the User’s personal data collect by SewingLab:
Name, nickname, year of birth, country of location, gender, email address, credit card number, ID, password, terminal ID (Device ID), IP address, the current location of devices, access log on to the server, cookies, purchase history, ‘favorite’ data registration, search history, Facebook ID, and User ID used in affiliate services

2.When the personal data is processed under the User’s consent, the User has the right to withdraw his/her consent at any time by notifying SewingLab. However, the User’s withdrawal of consent will not affect the legality of processing conducted based on the User’s consent before its withdrawal.
3.SewingLab neither obtain nor process any of the User’s personal data which is sensitive in nature, including religious beliefs and health status.
4.SewingLab does not conduct any solely data-based, automated decision-making that may produce any legal or similar material effect on the User.
5.SewingLab will notify the User separately if the provision of the User’s personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract, as well as the possible consequences of the failure to provide such data.
SewingLab obtains the User’s personal data directly from the User or indirectly through third parties such as those prescribed below.
i.Social network providers (such as Facebook)
SewingLab will retain the User’s personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the aforementioned purposes (prescribed in Article 1 of this Policy) for obtaining and processing the User’s personal data. Specific retention periods are decided based on the following considerations: (i) the purpose for obtaining and processing the personal data; (ii) the nature of the personal data; and (iii) the necessity of retaining the personal data for legal or business reasons.
1.In accordance with the GDPR and for the purposes prescribed in this Policy, SewingLab shares and discloses the User’s personal data to the following third parties:
i.Information-Gathering Tool Provider.
2.As a result of the aforementioned sharing and disclosure, in some cases, the User’s personal data will be transferred to Japan, for the avoidance of doubt the European Commission declared that Japan is a country that ensures an adequate level of protection similar to GDPR (Article 45 (1) and (3) of the GDPR).
1.The User has the following rights regarding personal data obtained and processed by SewingLab.
i.Obtaining information regarding the processing of data: The User has the right to obtain from SewingLab all the requisite information regarding SewingLab’s data processing activities that concern the User (Article 13 and Article 14 of the GDPR).
ii.Access to personal data: The User has the right to obtain from SewingLab confirmation as to whether personal data concerning the User is being processed, and, if so, then accesses to the personal data and certain related information (Article 15 of the GDPR).
iii.Rectification or erasure of personal data: The User has the right to have SewingLab rectify inaccurate personal data concerning the User without undue delay and the right to have SewingLab complete any incomplete personal data (Article 16 of the GDPR). Also, if certain conditions are satisfied, the User will have the right to have SewingLab delete personal data concerning the User without undue delay (Article 17 of the GDPR).
iv.Restriction on processing of personal data: If certain conditions are satisfied, the User will have the right to have SewingLab restrict processing of personal data concerning the User (Article 18 of the GDPR).
v.Objection to the processing of personal data: If certain conditions are satisfied, the User will have the right to object to processing of personal data concerning the User (Article 21 of the GDPR).
vi.Data portability of personal data: If certain conditions are satisfied, the User will have the right to receive personal data concerning the User in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and the right to transfer those data to another controller without hindrance from SewingLab (Article 20 of the GDPR).
vii.Not to be subject to automated decision-making: If certain conditions are satisfied, the User will have the right not to be subject to solely data-based, automated decision-making (including profiling) that may produces any legal or similar material effect on the User (Article 22 of the GDPR).
2.If the User intends to exercise any of the aforementioned rights, please inquire using the contact details at the end of the Policy. SewingLab will provide information on action taken on an aforementioned request within one month of receipt of the request (which may be extended by two further months where necessary), or inform the reasons for not taking action within one month of receipt of the request.
3.The User can lodge a complaint in relation to SewingLab’s processing of the User’s personal data with the Data Protection Supervisory Authority of the Member State of the User’s habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
SewingLab may amend this Policy from time to time, and will contact the User through this website and by e-mail if necessary, when SewingLab makes any substantive or material amendments.
